Wrapsthetic co-founder Bernadette Hagans was honoured to speak at Victoria Square’s Sister Season event in celebration of International Women’s Day, joining a powerful line up of women sharing their stories, experiences, and advice.
The event brought together women from different industries and backgrounds to celebrate empowerment, resilience, and the importance of supporting one another. Hosted in the heart of Belfast at Victoria Square, Sister Season created a space for open conversation around ambition, challenges, and the journeys that shape women’s lives and careers.
During the talk, Bernadette shared her personal story - from being diagnosed with a rare cancer, synovial sarcoma, to becoming an amputee, mother, content creator, and entrepreneur. She spoke candidly about navigating life after amputation and how that experience ultimately led to the creation of Wrapsthetic.
At the Sister Season event, Bernadette spoke about the power of resilience and the importance of turning life’s challenges into opportunities for change. She also shared insights into building a brand with purpose, highlighting how Wrapsthetic aims to create both representation and innovation within the disabled and fashion spaces.
A key theme of the discussion was the importance of women supporting other women. International Women’s Day is not only about celebrating achievements but also about creating opportunities for future generations - something that resonates strongly with Bernadette’s work across business, advocacy, and community initiatives.
Speaking at Victoria Square’s Sister Season event was an incredibly meaningful moment for Bernadette and for Wrapsthetic. It provided an opportunity to share the brand’s mission with a wider audience while encouraging others to pursue their ideas, embrace their individuality, and redefine what is possible.
International Women’s Day is a reminder that every story has the power to inspire change - and events like Sister Season highlight just how impactful those stories can be when women come together to share them.
We hope you all had an incredible International Women's Day & appreciate all of you that celebrated this with us.
