We’re so proud to share that Wrapsthetic co-founder Bernadette Hagans recently appeared on RTÉ Radio 1, speaking about the story behind Wrapsthetic and the mission driving the brand forward.

During the interview, Bernadette spoke openly about the inspiration behind Wrapsthetic and why disabled representation matters so much. As a cancer survivor, amputee, mum, and fashion lover, Bernadette has always believed that prosthetics should feel personal - not purely medical.

Wrapsthetic was created to change the way prosthetic limbs are seen and experienced. Rather than something people feel they need to hide, the goal is to transform prosthetics and all other mobility aids into something expressive, stylish, and empowering.

Wrapsthetic

On RTÉ Radio 1, Bernadette shared how the idea for Wrapsthetic grew from her own experience wearing a prosthetic leg. She realised there was a huge gap between medical prosthetics and personal identity. Fashion is a powerful way people express themselves, yet prosthetic users have traditionally had very limited options when it comes to personalisation. Wrapsthetic aims to bridge that gap.

During the conversation on RTÉ Radio 1, Bernadette also spoke about the wider impact Wrapsthetic hopes to have. Beyond the product itself, the mission is about visibility and empowerment - showing that disability and style are not mutually exclusive.

Representation matters. When people see disabled people embracing their individuality and confidence, it helps break down stigma and change perceptions around disability.

The interview also touched on the growing excitement around Wrapsthetic, the response from the community so far, and the vision for the future of the brand.

Being invited onto RTÉ Radio 1 to talk about the brand was an incredibly special moment and a reminder that conversations around disability, identity, and innovation are gaining the attention they deserve.

This is only the beginning for Wrapsthetic, and we’re so excited to continue building a future where disabled aids can be just as expressive and individual as the people who wear them.
